The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts one of the most difficult exams and interviews in India. Year after year, lakhs of aspirants end up giving the exams after years of hard work but in the end, only a handful get selected. Only a proper combination of hard work, guidance and tenacity can help UPSC aspirants crack the IAS exam.

Along with hard work and dedication, these aspirants look up to those who had cracked these exams and ended up acquiring respectable positions. IAS officer Ansar Shaikh has a story that inspires all - he is one of India’s youngest IAS officers. IAS topper Ansar Ahmad Shaikh cleared the UPSC 2016 in his first attempt.

The youngest IAS officer of the country is the son of Yonus Sheikh Ahmad, who works as an autorickshaw driver in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra, India. Ansar Shaikh's father struggled with alcohol addiction and his father married thrice, Ansar's mother, who usually works on farmland is his second wife.

Ansar Shaikh grew up observing domestic violence and child marriage at close quarters. His sisters were married off as young as 15, and his younger brother, Anees dropped out of school in standard VII and worked in a garage to support the family and help Ansar to prepare for the IAS exam.

At the young age of 21, Ansar Shaikh created history. After clearing the UPSC Exam with great results, the 21-year-old got the position in the All India Rank and became the youngest IAS officer at this age.

Ansar Shaikh's childhood was no less than a battle. Battling all odds, Ansar never let go of his goal. Not willing to follow up in his father’s footsteps, Ansar took a new way which created a history today.

After filling himself with the required knowledge, Ansar applied for the Civil services exam and there he scored 199 out of 275. Ansar is truly a man of great willpower which let him be the kind of person he is today. His success is especially commendable counting the fact that education wasn’t a priority in his family.
