Jammu-Srinagar highway opens for traffic, Srinagar to Jammu on Sunday



SRINAGAR: After installation of bailey bridge near Kela Morh, Ramban, tomorrow subject to fair weather and better road condition only one way traffic shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Jammu including Banihal, Ramban (local traffic) on Jammu-Srinagar NHW .

No vehicle shall be allowed in the opposite direction *The weight bearing capacity of installed bailey bridge is less than 40 metric ton. TCU Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic.


Permanent restoration of the road will take time and is expected by 1st week of March, 2021.

CUT OFF TIMING:
LMVs from Zig (Qazigund) 0700 hrs to 1000 hrs
No Vehicle shall be allowed before & after cut off timing.

HMVs/Load Carriers
HMVs shall be allowed from Zig (Qazigund) towards Jammu after the LMVs.

SFs Convoy Movement
Security Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of traffic congestion on Jammu-Srinagar NHW and narrowness of Bailey bridge. They may ply from Srinagar towards Jammu after confirming the status of NHW.


NOTE- On 22-01-2021 Friday , there shall be no traffic movement on Jammu-Srinagar NHW from either side in view of maintenance/repairing of the NHW.

MUGHAL ROAD
Mughal road is blocked due to snow accumulation.

SSG ROAD
SSG road is closed by the J&K Govt. vide DIVCOM Kashmir’s order No 400/2020 dated 30-12-2020 till further orders.

ADVISORY
People are advised to undertake journey on NHW-44 only after confirming status of the road from Traffic control units as under:-
