Anantnag, March 31 :

A government primary school in Chree village in Vailoo zone of Anantnag district has 55 students and just one teacher.

Residents of the village said that the tall claims of the education department fall flat here as department has failed to provide teachers to the Institute where mostly poor students are enrolled.

They said that there are no facilities at the school as there are only three rooms besides that there is no drinking water, playground and boundary wall protecting the school premises.

Ishfaq Ahmad, a local resident said that the teacher posted there is trying his level best to manage all the works but is unable to do so.

He said that teacher is unable to control the students as he has to attend to around 60 students single handedly.

“ How is it possible for a single teacher to teach all sections jointly,” he added.

Locals said that they feel sorry for the teacher as he has to run the school single handedly and besides teaching he has to take care of paper work, mid day meals and other school related works.

“ How many subjects can he teach the students and what will the students learn in such a scenario,” said Abdul Hamid, another local resident.

He alleged that the school education department is playing with the career of our wards.

“ We have brought this issue in notice of concerned higher ups several times but to no avail,” he added.

They once again requested concerned officials to look into the matter and post adequate staff at the school.
