12th Class students complain of ‘out of syllabus’ physics paper

Srinagar, Nov 20: Days after the class 12th students complained of an “out of syllabus” physics paper, the J&K Board of School Education (BOSE) has decided to constitute a committee of subject experts to submit their recommendations.

The students complained to Greater Kashmir that the questions in the physics paper were not as per the prescribed syllabus.

“As soon as we were given the question paper, we were surprised to see some questions out of syllabus,” the students complained.

Chairperson BOSE VeenaPandita told Greater Kashmir that a committee would be constituted to look into the complaints of the students and seek their recommendations as well.

“After receiving recommendations of the committee, the decision for awarding grace marks will be taken accordingly,” she said.

However, Pandita said that the paper could not be framed “out of syllabus”.

“If it was difficult, we will take feedback from the committee,” she said.

The students questioned the selection of paper setters by BOSE saying that every time during the exams students are subjected to mental stress.

“This is not the first time that students faced inconvenience during the exams. We fail to understand why BOSE authorities fail to ensure hassle-free exams,” said Shafiya, a class 12th student.
