Nearly 13 teachers terminated in 2 weeks for unauthorised absence from duties in J&K
Srinagar : The School Education Department has terminated 13 teachers from their services in the last two weeks for prolonged unauthorised absence from their duties in schools.
Following the termination of six teachers last week for their unauthorised absence, the J&K School Education Department has sacked seven more teachers from their services.
The termination orders have been issued by the Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) pursuant to the decision of the committee in terms of Article 113 of J&K Civil Services Rules (Volume I) of 1956 and Rule 30 (V11) of J&KCCA rules 1956.
A teacher namely Shayista Akbar who was posted at high school Tarzova, Baramulla has been terminated from services for not resuming duties for a prolonged period of time after availing her leave without pay from her duties.
The DSEK order said the teacher applied for leave without pay for three months from June 13 of 2018 and did not resume her duties after expiry of the leave and remained un-authorizedly absent from her duties from September 13 of 2018.
“ The teacher was provided enough opportunities to resume her duties which she failed to avail despite serving her another show cause notice by directorate on May 18 this year,” the order reads.
The order said the teacher responded to the notice on June 7 this year which however was found unsatisfactory and unsubstantiated.
