Govt Modifies Deployment Rules for Teaching Staff in Education Department for Essential Duties


Srinagar, Jan 18 : The government on Tuesday modified the deployment rules for teaching staff in Education Department for essential duties.
    
An order issued by Principal Secretary to Government BK Singh says that it has been observed that the teaching staff of the School Education Department has been deployed for essential duties including containment and management of Covid- 19 outbreak, election-related work. 

It has been ordered that the attachments of the teaching staff of the School Education Department who have been deployed or attached for administrative works in different departments are canceled.
   
The order as per KNT further says that the Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction vide Government Order No.91 - JK (DMRRR) of 2021 dated 28.12.2021, issued guidelines for deployment of School Education Department staff below the rank of Lecturer to perform Covid duties.
   
The guidelines include that the deployment shall be for a period of three months only, not more than one staff member from a single School shall be deployed. Deployment shall be of non-repetitive staff members.

“ Requests have been received from various Deputy Commissioners that the services of the teaching staff attached or deployed in the election offices are required for the smooth functioning of election-related activities and requests for their continuance with the present assignments, so that election-related work may not suffer.
    
Accordingly, it is impressed upon all the HoDs /Chief Education Officers to follow the following guidelines while deploying the teaching staff of the School Education Department to other departments for doing essential duties.
  
These guidelines include that no teaching staff shall be deployed for more than three months to election office in Deputy Commissioner's office and it will be non-repetitive. 

Other guidelines issued by the Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction shall also be applicable in these cases.
   
And furthermore, in case of deputation of teaching staff, the proposal shall be submitted to the Administrative Department. 

Further, it is also impressed upon all the teaching staff of the School Education Department who have been deployed and deputed to other departments have to join back in their original place of posting. (KNT)
