Teacher From Kashmir Bags Asian Education Award
Srinagar : Kashmir school teacher, Zakir Hussain was awarded Asian Education Award in the category of Best Teacher of the Year 2022. He is currently working as a General Line teacher in Government Higher Secondary School Kangan Ganderbal.
Zakir Hussain won the award as a result of his continuing excellence in education even during the pandemic.The award was established by the Kites Craft Production Foundation and is given in partnership with Satshri Technologies, Mind ON, and CODEGEM.
Zakir was honoured for having “transformed the life chances” of students of his school and as well as the aspirants who were preparing for the civil service examination at Jammu and Kashmir UT Level, prize organizers said in a statement.
He started teaching at the school in 2009 and also introduced digital learning tools and came up with personalized programmes for each student. He is also a certified life coach with having speciality in Goal setting Success.
Till now he has transformed thousands of lives of students and aspirants preparing for competitive examination in achieving their goals.
The coronavirus pandemic forced students out of the classroom and starkly revealed how learning difficulties, distractions and challenging home dynamics can make it tough to adhere to a rigid curriculum.
In a year with so much loss, a silver lining is that educators are embracing a flexible approach that meets students where they are, “We, as teachers, are much more open to this self-paced learning, which has been an invitation for students who think and learn differently said Zakir Hussain, Asian Education awardee.
Zakir Hussain, said, “I believe it’s not the years you give to your profession, what you give is your ideas, your belief and your passion to do something extraordinary.”
While talking about the future plans, Zakir Hussain said, “I am under process regarding the publishing of the first book titled The Secret of Goal setting to Success which will be published in the coming month.”
While talking about the book Zakir Hussain said, “The book is a personal development book and is helpful to the age group of 14 to onwards and will help them in achieving their goal as this book is very practical in nature and based on personal experience of almost 13 years.”
