Srinagar, June 14 : aspirants in the valley have been left in the lurch as two institutes are conducting their entrance exams on the same day, leaving the students with fewer choices.

The clash in the exams of Kashmir University and Jamia Millia Islamia has left the students in a state of despair as qualifying the entrance will make them eligible for their admission in PG course.

While speaking to CNS, aspirants said that most of the candidates have submitted their applications for participation in these two examinations and with this unilateral decision they can participate only in one examination while they are deprived of the other option.

Umar, an aspirant, said, “Everyone knows the importance of money in student life. Due to this clash I have wasted Rs 8000, which I paid as examination fees and air ticket. It is a big amount for me and other students as well. Being national level exams, the authorities should change the dates to accommodate us.”

“ The authorities should be aware about this unhealthy trend. Such clashes are a headache for candidates as it reduces our chances of being selected in either. I no longer have a back-up plan,” said Gousiya, another aspirant.

Meanwhile, aspirants have appealed to the authorities in Kashmir university to change the date for holding entrance exams so that they don’t miss the entrance exam in any of the universities.(CNS)
