Bandipora, Aug 19: Government primary school in upper-Kudara, a remote area in Bandipora district has just one classroom for about 100 students.
Locals told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the smooth functioning of the primary school has been affected over the years as the school has just one room to accommodate 100 students while there are only two teachers which creates more problems for students.
The residents said they approached higher authorities several times,but nothing was done for the school.
“Seeing the condition of the school, one gets disappointed. The administration should think about it. Don't the students of this remote area deserve a good education?" asked Fayaz Ahmad.
"We have no drinking water here, no electricity, no playground nor a proper washroom. Besides, we do not feel safe in this building," Majid Khan, a student said. "We should have a good building in which we will feel comfortable to study," he added.
"We appeal to the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad to look into the matter and direct the concerned authorities to get the issue redressed at the earliest,” the students said—(KNO)
