NCC builds character of students, prevents them from taking Wrong path: Div Com Kashmir

Directs for filling of 100% vacancies of 12000 cadets; frequent engagement of cadets in events & activities



Srinagar, Sept 03: The Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole today convened a meeting of officers regarding under utilization of NCC cadets and fulfilling of vacancies in Junior and Senior division to hundred percent saturation.

The meeting was attended by VC, LCMA; Director Colleges; Director Golf Course, Joint Director School Education, officers of NCC, NSS, Bharat Scouts & Guides.

Speaking on the occasion, Div Com said that NCC builds character of students to prevent them from taking wrong path.

He asked Director Colleges and JD School Education to enroll students for NCC and fill up hundred percent vacancies of 12000 cadets at the earliest.

He directed for deployment of ANOs and providing training to them besides deployment of staff to NCC from Colleges and School Education Department.

Also, he said cluster institutions shall be made at central locations for training to cadets.

Meanwhile, he asked identification of land for establishment of NCC unit and training centres at different locations in Srinagar, Baramulla and Anantnag. 

He also instructed for making swimming pool of golf course available to NCC on Mondays besides Bakhshi stadium and indoor stadium to provide training to cadets. He reviewed the infrastructural development of NCC units and training institutions.

Meanwhile, he further issued directions for conducting Joint activities by NCC and NSS twice in a month for which he also called for issuing and synchronizing the activities calendar.

Moreover, Div Com asked for looping in prominent private institutions and enrollment of their students in NCC.
