Two female students of JU killed, 2 others injured as container hits car on NH



Jammu, Sep 19: Two female students of Jammu University were killed while two others critically injured after a container hit a car near Dalwas area of District Ramban on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on Monday
   
Police sources told Kashmir News Apex- (KNA) that a container bearing registration number PB08Y-2168 on its way to Srinagar hit a Jammu bound Baleno car bearing registration number JK02CC-8113 near Dalwas area on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, resulting into on the spot death of two female students of Jammu University and critical injuries to two others. The collision was so potent that the car rolled down into deep gorge after being hit by the container.
   
After getting information, police team and locals rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.
   
Two critically injured persons were rescued and shifted to CHC Batote from where they were later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu for specialised treatment.
   
He said bodies of the deceased were also retrieved from the gorge and shifted to mortuary of District Hospital Ramban for completion of medical and legal formalities.
   
The deceased were identified as Esetan Dolma, daughter of Tashi Andus and Rigzen Lamu, daughter of Morup Dogray, both residents of Ladakh. They were pursing M PEd from Jammu University.
   
He said injured were identified as Pranav Bandral, son of Kuldeep Singh of Mubarak Mandi District Jammu and Harman Anand, daughter of Harpinder Anand of Channi Himmat District Jammu.
   
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Police Station and investigation started. (KNA)
