India Today : On Tuesday, President Droupadi Murmu emphasised the significance of instilling values in youngsters in order to help them develop into decent citizens.

At a gathering held as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav in this city, Murmu spoke to the faculty and students of the Keshav Memorial Educational Society. She emphasised that parents also prioritise their children's academic success in light of competition.

"I say everywhere that value education should be added in our curriculum, our system, our syllabus," she said, as per PTI.

She claimed that if value education is given from the start, it would aid in the emergence of a good society.

She was responding to a student who asked whether the lack of education of ethical principles contributes to unwelcome situations in society.

She expressed assurance in her address that the execution of National Education Policy 2020 would provide an educational system that is learner-centric and encourages critical thinking and creativity.

She claimed that this change in emphasis will be advantageous to the students personally as well as to the general advancement and development of the country.

The President emphasised the value of reading and stated that reading regularly is one of the best ways to improve oneself. She claimed that it is a talent that pupils would find useful throughout their lives.

"In an age of internet and social media when attention span is getting shorter and communication is limited in characters, I will urge you to read more in order to improve your understanding and widen your perspective," she said.

A number of people attended the event, including Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and Union Tourism and Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy. (India Today) reports
