Two images of the young student and the Inspector, who was identified as Souvik Chakraborty, the OC Howrah Bridge Traffic Guard, were posted on Facebook by Kolkata Police's official handle.

The caption of the post read, "Today at about 11.20 am, Inspector Souvik Chakraborty, OC Howrah Bridge Traffic Guard, was patrolling Strand Road near Raja Katra when he noticed a young girl in school uniform crying and asking various people for help."

After asking, he discovered that she was a Madhyamik examinee, and that the Adarsh Shiksha Niketan in Shyambazar served as her examination site. She lived on NS Road and was alone because her family had gone to the funeral of her grandfather who had just passed away. She was frantically looking for assistance while running from pillar to post alone and was already late for the exam.

As soon as he became aware of her predicament, Inspector Chakraborty picked up the student in his official vehicle, informed the Traffic Control Room to ensure a green corridor, and then hurried towards the testing location while pleading with her not to worry. At precisely 11.30 a.m., the centre was about to open its doors when they arrived at the location. The OC wished the grateful and relieved student luck for her upcoming exam.

Just a few hours after being posted on Facebook, the amazing story has amassed over 61,000 likes and over 4,000 reshares. While some users praised the officer for his "great job" in the comments section, others called the officer's kind gesture "commendable."
