Budgam youth selected as scientist at prestigious ICMR


Budgam, Mar 01: A 32-year-old youth of Bopat village in in central Kashmir's Budgam district has been selected for the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) as a ‘Scientist’ in Biostatistics.

Ashiq Hussain Bhat completed his basic education in his native village. He did his PhD at the University of Kashmir in Statistics.

While talking to the Rising Kashmir, Ashiq said that he had qualified for the exams and has been selected for ICMR as a scientist C in bio-statistics.

"When I was studying at the Kashmir University, it was difficult for me to fulfil all my basic needs. As my father was doing carpet weaving work he could not earn a good source of income from this art. When I got admission for my PHD degree my mother sold her land, through which I purchased a laptop, books, and paid my admission fee," Bhat Said.

"I have worked as a contractor lecturer in many colleges, which include Government Degree College Udhampur, Government Degree College Sopore, Government Degree College Bemina, and Amar Singh College Srinagar," Bhat said.

He said a person who is ambitious needs to focus on his goals, "If any person has completed his master's degree in any subject, he or she needs to focus on that particularly subject,” Rising Kashmir
