Education Zone Sogam Holds Mega Enrollment Drive

Kupwara, Mar 20: The Department of Education on Monday held a mega enrollment drive at TRC Chandigam in Zone Sogam, aimed at motivating the parents to enroll their wards in government schools.

The drive was attended by VC DDC Kupwara Haji Farooq Mir, Chief Education Officer Kupwara Abdul Hamid Fani, DDC Member Sogam Nasir Nazir Lone, and Zonal Education Officer Sogam besides the Principals, HoIs, PRIs and the parents of the enrolled children.

The speakers on the occasion made threadbare deliberations to discuss and shed light on the benefits of enrolling one’s children in government as vouched by the enrollment drive initiated by DSEK.

The government is committed to provide quality education to the students enrolled in the government schools and as such are inviting the parents to enroll their wards in such institutions, said a speaker.

The government institutes have certified teachers, interactive atmosphere, good atmosphere, quality education, free textbooks, free uniform, free admission, free mid meals, free winter coaching, free ICT labs, scholarships, outside tours, qualified teachers, smart class room for LKG & UKG, free uniform bags, monthly assessment of learning level of students, activity based teaching, different kinds of sports activities being provided in the government schools now, the speaker said.

The things have been improving quite thick and fast for a while now and we urge the parents to make the most of the benefits being provided by the government, another speaker said.

"Infrastructure has improved in our government schools and a major change can be seen now. Our teachers are doing excellent work in the education sector these days", he added.

CEO Kupwara Ab Hamid Fani while addressing the gathering said that, bringing children from private institutions and admitting in government schools is a sign of development in our education sector and it also indicates that the people of the area believe in our teachers.

"Parents need to develop trust and faith in our dedicated teachers as they are not leaving any stone unturned in providing better education" he said.

The education officer on the eve hailed the initiative of ‘Zimandar Project’ taken by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara.

DDC Member Sogam Nasir Nazir Lone on the eve highlighted the role of the parents in making the enrollment drive successful.  

"Our Govt. Schools are definitely making a mark but there is a lot of scope and need for attention to our Education sector", he said.

He also spoke about the ambitious Zimandari project conducted by the Education Department on the directions of Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattaray, DC Kupwara and Dr. Hamid Fani, CEO Kupwara.

The event also saw speeches by many PRIs, who mostly attracted the attention of authorities towards the issues faced by the student community.  (Kashmir Glory News)
