Kargil, May 29: The recruitment tests conducted by the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council-Kargil (LAHDC-KSSRB) concluded on May 28, 2023, with the culmination of the Matric-Level Examination.

The recruitment tests which were categorized as per qualification criteria saw huge participation. The Graduate Level test saw an impressive turnout of about 5,000 aspirants. The 12th-level test saw participation from about 9,000 candidates. While about 11,000 aspirants sat for the matric-level test.

In a historic move, the LAHDC-KSSRB introduced an online registration system, revolutionizing the application process. This digital platform received an overwhelming response reaffirming the demand for accessible and streamlined recruitment procedures.

To ensure a fair and transparent evaluation process, the LAHDC-KSSRB adopted the Series-based OMR Exam system. With the integration of OMR Scanners, the need for human intervention in paper checking was completely eliminated. This revolutionary approach guarantees unbiased evaluation and enables timely result announcements, enhancing the credibility of the examination process.

To combat malpractice and maintain the integrity of the exams, the LAHDC-KSSRB meticulously selected 41 examination centers across the district. These centers were equipped with 240 rooms/halls, all under the surveillance of CCTV cameras, ensuring strict vigilance to minimize the possibility of cheating.

Notably, for the first time, examination centers were established in the remote Zanskar region, providing equal opportunities to candidates from even the most geographically challenging areas.

The LAHDC-KSSRB took further measures to ensure the security of exam-related materials by establishing a dedicated strongroom. This facility was designed to safeguard sensitive materials, reinforcing the Board’s commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and authenticity of the examination process.

In order to rule out any chances of cheating in groups, the LAHDC-KSSRB implemented a randomization system for roll numbers. This measure added an extra layer of credibility and ensured fairness throughout the examination process.

To oversee the exams and ensure adherence to the highest standards, the LAHDC-KSSRB appointed a team of vigilant observers who diligently monitored the proceedings. Their presence reassured the candidates and emphasized the Board’s commitment to transparency and fairness in the recruitment process.

The CEC commended the Chairman of LAHDC-KSSRB for the successful organization of the exams. He said that DC/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, who is also the Chairman of the LAHDC-KSSRB deserves appreciation for leading from the front.

He said that DC Santosh has very meticulously and arduously developed a robust system of examination to do away with all the issues that used crop up in the previous examinations of similar nature. While on one hand his successful planning to do away with open ground as exam venue have instilled a sense of confidence in the aspirants, on the other hand technological interventions to ensure transparency have instilled a sense of trust among the aspirants.

“Mobilization and management of the exam staff in such huge numbers speaks high of his human resource management skills,” the CEC said.
