Update on CUET Exam Centre Row: NTA Explores Temporary Centre in Srinagar
NTA is exploring the possibility of creating a temporary Centre in Srinagar.
"A total of 87309 candidates have been registered from the UT of Jammu and Kashmir. For 21, 22, 23, and 24 May 2023, a total of 18012 candidates will be appearing in 12 Centers in Jammu and Kashmir, i.e., 03 in Jammu, 05 in Srinagar, 02 in Baramulla, 01 each in Samba and Pulwama. For 25, 26, 27, and 28 May 2023, a total of 44425 candidates will be appearing in 15 Centres created in Jammu and Kashmir.

In the ongoing controversy surrounding the allotment of CUET exam centers outside Kashmir, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has provided an update. With a total of 87,309 registered candidates from Jammu and Kashmir, arrangements are being made to accommodate the students within the state. For the exam dates of May 21st to May 24th, 18,012 candidates will appear in 12 centers across Jammu and Kashmir, including Jammu, Srinagar, Baramulla, Samba, and Pulwama.
For the exam dates of May 25th to May 28th, 44,425 candidates are assigned to 15 centers in Jammu and Kashmir. While some candidates have been moved outside the state, the NTA acknowledges the importance of accessibility and is exploring the possibility of establishing a temporary exam center in Srinagar.
This initiative aims to bring back most of the candidates to the state, recognizing the needs and concerns of the students. However, due to the large number of candidates, it is possible that some candidates may still have to take the CUET (UG) exam outside the state.
