J&K Govt renames 33 educational institutions, roads, other infra after fallen soldiers, eminent personalities


Srinagar, Jan 30: The government on Tuesday ordered renaming of 13 educational establishments and roads after some eminent personalities and the security forces who lost their lives on the line of duty.

The government also ordered the renaming of 20 different roads, infrastructures and playgrounds after the eminent personalities and the security forces. Besides, the administration also ordered necessary steps to be taken for amending the records for effecting the changes. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Commissioner Secretary to government General Administration Department (GAD), Sanjeev Verma in an order said the divisional commissioners of both the regions shall personally monitor the naming of the infrastructure and assets in their respective divisions. It also ordered that the deputy commissioners shall ensure that appropriate events are held in connection with the naming of these infrastructure and assets.

The educational institutes that will be named after these personalities include Government Degree College (Boys) Anantnag, Government Boys High School Narwara, Government High School (Lehar) Sungal Akhnoor, Government High School Chak Malal, Zone Khour of district Jammu, Government Middle School Urliyan, Udhampur, Government Girls High School Mantalai, Government High School Ajote Poonch, High School Galigarh, Government High School Sungal, Government Middle School Dharam Khoo, Government Higher Secondary School Gharota, Government High School Majua Uttami and Government Middle School Dudha Bhajmasta—(KNO)
