Kupwara Schools Closed for Two Days: Avalanche Safety Measures Implemented
In a precautionary move aimed at ensuring the safety of students and staff, the district administration of Kupwara announced the closure of schools in avalanche-prone areas for two days. The decision, prompted by recent heavy snowfall and avalanche warnings issued by the JKDMA, will see schools in Keran, Budnambal, Jumagund, Kumkadi, Machil, and upper reaches of Karnah sub-division shut on March 4th and 5th, 2024.
With the well-being of teachers and students in mind, authorities are taking proactive steps to mitigate potential risks posed by adverse weather conditions. This measure underscores the commitment to prioritize safety amid challenging circumstances.
While this temporary closure ensures immediate safety, it's essential to note that all educational institutions, including both government and private schools, are set to reopen tomorrow following an extended winter break. As the community prepares to resume academic activities, ensuring a safe learning environment remains paramount.
