DSEK Announces Syllabus Reduction for Classes 8th & 9th
The Directorate of School Education, Kashmir (DSEK) has announced a reduced syllabus for Class 8th and 9th for the current academic year (2024-25). This decision aims to ease exam pressure and make learning more manageable for students.
What's Changed?
Specific topics have been removed from subjects like Mathematics and Science in the new syllabus. This will allow students to focus on core concepts and have more time to solidify their understanding.

Other Important Updates:
- The academic session for Class 10th to 12th will be restored to the traditional November-December cycle starting next year (2025-26).
- JKBOSE (Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education) exams for Class 10th to 12th will be held in February 2025 and completed by March-end.
- Annual examinations (summative assessment) for Class 8th will be conducted by concerned schools from the 2024-25 academic session onwards.
