School Education Department gives final chance for document, acquiring degrees without permission
The School Education Department (SED) in Srinagar has issued a final notice to its teaching and other staff who obtained higher qualifications through distance and online learning during their service without prior approval. The department, as reported by Kashmir News Observer (KNO), had earlier extended a one-time exemption for such cases.
Committees were formed at the directorate level to verify the authenticity and equivalence of the postgraduate degrees obtained in this manner. However, these committees have yet to submit their reports regarding some cases, despite multiple extensions of the deadline.
To resolve this issue, the department has instructed the Directors of School Education in Kashmir (DSEK) and Jammu (DSEJ) to give a final opportunity to the concerned employees. A minimum of 21 days from the notice's publication date has been granted for the submission of the required documents.
Failure to comply within the stipulated time could result in further action, and only eligible candidates will be considered after the committees submit their final verification reports. (KNO)
