Teachers’ Day Celebrated at the University of Ladakh, Leh Campus
Ladakh, September 04: The Students’ Council of the University of Ladakh, Leh Campus, organized the Teachers’ Day celebration on the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
The students warmly welcomed all the teachers with traditional khataks. Dean Students’ Welfare, Dr. Yangchan Dolma, extended a special welcome to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor with a traditional khatak. All the Deans, Coordinators, and faculty members of various departments were present along with the students, making the occasion memorable and vibrant.
On the occasion, Ms. Padma Angmo from the Department of Political Science, Mr. Peyush Jaat from the Department of Physical Education, and Ms. Stanzin Palkit from the Department of History shared their views, highlighting the invaluable role of teachers in their lives and expressed deep gratitude to their teachers for their constant guidance, encouragement, and support. They acknowledged that the role of teachers extends beyond academics, as teachers help shape their character, values, and vision, preparing them to become responsible citizens and confident individuals.
In his address, the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor highlighted the role of teachers not only in imparting existing knowledge but also in exploring and sharing the unknown and uncovered realms of learning. He emphasized that teachers should prepare students to become strong, resilient, and capable of facing challenges and hurdles in life. He extended his appreciation to the students' council for organizing the program as a mark of respect and gratitude towards their teachers.
