The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has officially notified the Winter Vacation 2026 schedule, as per an order issued by the Office of the Registrar General on December 18, 2025. The order also details the No Work period and names of Vacation Judges for both Jammu and Srinagar wings.
J&K High Court Winter Vacation 2026 Schedule
As per the official order, the Hon’ble High Court will observe winter vacation according to the following timeline:
Winter Vacation Period:
1 January 2026 to 24 January 2026 (both days inclusive)
No Work Period:
15 January 2026 to 10 January 2026
(No regular judicial work will be conducted during this period)
The vacation is applicable to both Jammu and Srinagar wings of the High Court.
Vacation Judges for Winter Vacation 2026
To handle urgent matters during the vacation period, the Hon’ble Chief Justice has nominated Vacation Judges under Rule 12 of the J&K High Court Rules, 1999.
Jammu Wing
- Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjay Parihar: 12 January to 17 January 2026
- Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajesh Sekhri: 19 January to 24 January 2026
Srinagar Wing
- Hon’ble Mr. Justice Shahzad Azeem: 12 January to 17 January 2026
- Hon’ble Mr. Justice Mohd Yousuf Wani: 19 January to 24 January 2026
These judges will hear urgent matters only during the vacation period.
Important Instructions for Litigants & Advocates
Only urgent cases will be taken up during winter vacation.
Regular court functioning will resume after 24 January 2026.
