JK Government Degree Colleges Winter Vacations 2025–26 Announced – Official Schedule

The Higher Education Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, has officially announced the Winter Vacations 2025–26 for Government Degree Colleges.

As per Government Order No. 497-JK(HE) of 2025, dated 23 December 2025, all government degree colleges across J&K will observe winter vacations according to their respective zones.

Winter Vacations for Government Degree Colleges in J&K

The winter vacation schedule has been issued in the interest of administration and applies to all Government Degree Colleges under the Higher Education Department. Jkstudentalerts.com

The vacation period differs for colleges located in Winter Zone and Summer Zone areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

Zone-Wise Winter Vacation Schedule

Kashmir Division – Winter Zone Colleges

• Vacations will begin from 24 December 2025

• Colleges will reopen on 15 February 2026

• Applicable to all Government Degree Colleges falling under the Winter Zone of Kashmir Division

Jammu Division – Winter Zone Colleges

• Vacations will commence from 24 December 2025

• Colleges will reopen on 15 February 2026

• Applicable to Government Degree Colleges of Jammu Division located in Winter Zone areas

Jammu Division – Summer Zone Colleges

• Vacations will start from 1 January 2026

• Colleges will reopen on 11 January 2026

• Applicable to Government Degree Colleges of Jammu Division falling under Summer Zone areas

This decision has been issued by the Higher Education Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, and is signed by the competent authority.

All Principals, Registrars, and concerned officials have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the notified schedule.
