The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has officially released Advertisement Notification No. 14 of 2025 for the recruitment of 487 Constable posts in J&K Police (Armed/IRP and SDRF) under the Home Department. Eligibility Criteria

Domicile Requirement

  • Applicant must be a domicile of Jammu & Kashmir UT
  • Valid domicile certificate must be available on or before 02 March 2026


Educational Qualification

  • Matriculation (10th pass) from a recognized board
  • Qualification must be acquired before the cut-off date


Age Limit (as on 01 January 2025)

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years
  • Maximum Age (OM & most categories): 28 Years
  • In-Service Police Personnel: Up to 30 Years
  • SPOs / VHGs: Up to 40 Years
  • Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation as per service period and rules

Selection Process – JKSSB Constable 2026

1️⃣ Written Examination

  • Objective type MCQs
  • Questions in English language only
  • Negative marking: ¼ mark for each wrong answer
  • NCC Bonus Marks:
    • NCC ‘C’ – 5%
    • NCC ‘B’ – 3%
    • NCC ‘A’ – 2%


2️⃣ Physical Standard Test (PST) (Qualifying)

For Male Candidates

  • Height: 5’6” (minimum)
  • Chest: 32” (unexpanded), 33½” (expanded)

For Female Candidates

  • Height: 5’2” (minimum)
  • Relaxation of 2 inches for Gorkha & Bot Tribe


3️⃣ Physical Endurance Test (PET) (Qualifying)

Male

  • 1600 meters race – 6½ minutes
  • 20 push-ups

Female

  • 1000 meters race – 6½ minutes
  • Shot put (4 kg) – 14½ feet (3 attempts)

Relaxation available for Ex-Servicemen as per age slabs.



Medical Examination

Candidates selected after PET will undergo a medical fitness test as prescribed for J&K Police recruits.
