What Is the SSSJKL Scheme?

The Special Scholarship Scheme for the UTs of J&K and Ladakh (SSSJKL) is a scholarship-linked undergraduate admission scheme run by AICTE under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It enables eligible students from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh to secure admission, along with financial support, in technical and professional undergraduate programmes across India.

Step-by-Step Counseling Process

Registration (16–27 July)

Candidates must complete online registration and submit their application within the prescribed dates. Missing the registration deadline will make them ineligible for the counseling process.

Document Verification (18–28 July)

Candidates must visit their nearest Facilitation-cum-Document Verification Centre (FDVC) with original documents. Only verified candidates can participate in choice filling.

Choice Filling (22–31 July)

Verified candidates should log in to the portal and fill their preferred colleges and courses carefully. The order of preferences will determine seat allotment.

Correction Window (29–30 July)

Candidates who notice any mistakes in their verified details can get them corrected at the FDVC. No requests will be entertained after 5:00 PM on 30 July 2026.

Final Merit List (4 August)

AICTE will publish the final merit list on the student portal. Seat allotment will be based on merit and candidate preferences.

Seat Allocation (7 August)

Candidates can check their allotted college and course by logging into the student portal.

Seat Confirmation (7 August)

Candidates must freeze or accept their allotted seat before 5:00 PM on 7 August 2026. Failure to confirm the seat within the deadline will result in automatic cancellation.

Reporting to Institute (7–14 August)

Candidates must report to their allotted institute with the required documents and upload the joining report through the portal.

Auto Seat Cancellation (16 August)

Candidates who fail to report within the stipulated period will have their allotted seat cancelled automatically.

Important Instructions

• The counseling schedule is tentative and may change.
• Seat allotment will be purely merit-based.
• Candidates must check their allotment status through the student portal.
• Once allotted, the college or course cannot be changed.
• Candidates already admitted through NEET, JEE or CUET before SSSJKL counseling begins must update the information on the AICTE portal using the Entrance Examination option.
• A second round of counseling will be conducted only if fewer than 5,000 candidates confirm and freeze their seats in Round 1.
• Candidates must download their allotment letter after seat allotment.
• Candidates joining Central Universities such as Delhi University or Jamia Millia Islamia through CUET must also follow the admission guidelines issued by the respective university.
• Institutes will confirm admissions on the portal after document verification and candidate reporting.
• If the academic session is delayed, online joining confirmation can be accepted only after written consent from the candidate through the registered email.
