Responding to the concerns, JKBOSE Director Academics Dr Parveen Singh said the Board has already resolved more than 200–250 PMSSS portal mismatch cases through continuous coordination with the PMSSS authorities in New Delhi.

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Thursday assured students that it is actively working to resolve PMSSS portal verification issues after concerns were raised by candidates whose revised marks from the Higher Secondary Part-II Division Improvement Examination (Bi-Annual) 2025 had not been reflected online.

The issue came to light after dozens of students from the Jammu division complained that they were unable to complete their applications under the Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) because the portal was rejecting their forms due to a mismatch between their revised marks and the records available online.

Parents said many students, despite improving their scores in the improvement examination, feared losing the scholarship as Thursday was the last date for submitting applications.

Responding to the concerns, JKBOSE Director Academics Dr Parveen Singh said the Board has already resolved more than 200–250 PMSSS portal mismatch cases through continuous coordination with the PMSSS authorities in New Delhi.

He explained that the discrepancies primarily arose because the PMSSS portal verifies candidates' credentials against the data initially uploaded by JKBOSE. Subsequent changes—such as corrections in students' or parents' names, revised marks after re-evaluation or improvement examinations, and the addition of practical marks—resulted in verification mismatches.

"JKBOSE has been continuously coordinating with the PMSSS authorities under the directions of the Chairman to update records and clear pending cases," Dr Singh said.

He appealed to students whose issues are yet to be resolved to immediately approach their respective JKBOSE offices so that their cases can be taken up on priority.

Dr Singh also pointed out that the admission calendar has been compressed this year following the Supreme Court's directions to complete engineering and higher education admissions by August 15, making timely disposal of pending cases crucial. (Greater Kashmir)
