Shab-E-Qadr: The Night of Power & Forgiveness

This Night of forgiveness is better than a thousand months

Shab-e-Qadr, the Night of forgiveness in Ramadan, is of great significance. The first verses of the Holy Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad (SAW) on this divine night. Angels descend in this night. This night is believed to be much better than a thousand months. When you do good deeds in this night, its equivalent to the good deeds you did for almost 1000 months or 83 years.

In this night (27th of Ramadan), the Holy Quran was sent down from Loh-e-Mehfooz to the earth. Messenger of ALLAH (SAW) told us to search for Shab-e-Qadr in the odd numbered nights, in the last ten days of Ramzan. So, the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th or 29th night of Ramadan could be Shab-e-Qadr. However, it has been emphasized that it is most likely to be on the 27th night of Ramadan. This Night of forgiveness is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace is until the emergence of dawn." [Quran 97:1-5]

Hazrat Aisha( RA) stated that Rasool Allah (SAW) said, "Look for Lailat-Ul-Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadhan." (Bukhari). Hazrat Aisha (RA) stated that I asked Rasool Allah (SAW), If I find Lailatul Qadar then what should I do? The Prophet (SAW) said, recite this Dua."ALLAH HUMMA INNAKA A’FUVUN TOHIB BUL A'FVA FA’AFU 'ANNI" (Tirmidhi)

{O Allah! You are the Forgiver and You like forgiving so forgive me”}

We should offer nawafil (prayers), recite QUR'AAN, do repentance (Istaghfar), and Pray for pardon, recite many many Salawat (Darood Sharif & Salaam) and make benediction (Dua'as) during this blessed night.

The Prophet (SAW) said, "Whoever fasted the month of Ramadan out of sincere Faith (i.e. belief) and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his past sins will be forgiven, and whoever stood for the prayers in the night of Qadr out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven.

The blessed night of the month of the Ramadhan, Lailatul Qadr, during which, blessings, rewards, forgiveness, and an abundance of good is gained. The night of power has come and it is another chance for us to do good to humankind, it is even stated that all the good deeds done on this special night will be rewarded handsomely.

On this special night, May Allah purifies our intensions and accepts us. May Allah put us in his book of those released from Hellfire? I pray that He accepts our duas , protects our family and relief our distress on this special night.

Have a blessed time and Tons of SHABE-QADR wishes.
